Review of The Razor's Edge (1946) by Katie R — 21 May 2008
One of the most underappreciated masterpieces of the classic era. It's just a beautiful, stunning production. It's kind of amazing how lavish it is, while still being quite subtle. The performances are also all around amazing.
I love Herbert Marshall as Maugham, Gene Tierney is a grade-A bitch (she was at her best playing beautiful bitches), Anne Baxter is heartbreaking, and Tyrone Power is an incredibly strong leading man.
Simply one of the most beautiful films of the Golden Age.
