(2012) The Raven.
MYSTERY THRILLER SUSPENSE.
The movie opens on a footnote, pointing out the way Edgar Allen Poe had died without going into too much detail. We then see Edgar Allen Poe (John Cusack) who was already infamous for his short horror stories and verses. At this point this is during the time when Edgar's success was dwindling and owed a lot of money to many people because he loves to drink. And at the same time he is also engaged to be married, except that people around the area are being murdered exactly the same way as it's portrayed on his stories. This scenario is similar to Dario Argento's 1982 film "Tenebrae" or American title "Unsane". Although, there was another movie that consisted to have that exact same idea, I don't quite remember it at this time.
One of the main problems is it's consistency had already been thrown out the window since this killer was almost caught on several occasions, and seems to always be one step ahead of the police no matter how many are involved. What is also ridiculous is the fact that popular business establishments are always busy, and this movie contradicts that notion.
2 out of 4 stars.
