Review of The Raven (2012) by Sean S — 13 Sep 2013

Its whole feel is relatively low-budget and historical reinterpretation, but The Raven never pretends to be anything more than a thriller based in and around Poe's legend. It works references to Poe's works in quite deftly, but in the end lacks the intelligence and ability to have viewers become invested in its characters to elevate it to the role of a truly compelling film.
