Review of The Raven (2012) by James R — 01 Nov 2013
I was actually looking forward to this movie call me a sucker for John Cusack films, but boy was this one bad. John Cusack does a decent job, but the movie is really just a justification for the final days of Edgar Allen Poes real life and why he was muttering the word Reynolds.
It's not scary, but has a kinda made for TV feel. There are moments that are generally well done such as the moments leading to the climax (which is terrible). I actually enjoyed the performance of the young detective played by Luke Evans he has a strong screen presence.
Overall, rent it only if you're super curious! Otherwise, I'd say skip it.
