Review of The Ramen Girl (2008) by Eugenio S — 21 Dec 2009
As far as American rom-coms go, this was suprisingly entertaining. With the film's pace shifting from culture clash comedy to suprisingly emotional drama. Personally, I already have an interest in Japanese culture, but seeing it from an american view point was really quite interesting. How the Japanese can put so much effort and emotion into ramen. Abby was a character who must of us can relate to, someone who doesn't know what to do with their life, but still wants to accomplish something.
In conclusion, most people would have a problem with either subtitles or the fact that it's an american romantic comedy. But I personally found it to be inspirational cinema.
