Review of The Rainmaker (1997) by Andy H — 03 Feb 2014
Based on a John Grisham novel which I haven't read, Matt Damon is a young lawyer who gets a job working for someone who wasn't getting the insurance money from the big corporation and ends up dying.
There is also a side story involving Claire Danes and her abusive husband, but that doesn't seem to go anywhere and doesn't add much to the story as a whole. Damon also works for a shady Mickey Rourke and he is also not used much as well.
The main story involving the insurance company is interesting, but it has a lot of fluff from the stories that don't involve it. So the film feels a bit bloated. Otherwise a pretty good movie.
