Review of The Rainmaker (1997) by Matthew M — 18 Jun 2009
An enjoyable courtroom drama that is well acted and directed. I enjoyed the movie because of the story but also the idea of a newcomer lawyer to be the prosecutor. The story is sad though and even at the end when the outcome seems to be good you find out that they do not get money instead they cause the whole company to go bankrupt.
It is a good ending even more than they had anticipated. Many fine actors appear in the movie including Roy Scheider, Mickey Rourke, Danny DeVito, Jon Voight, Matt Damon and Virginia Madsen. Overall, a great courtroom drama.
