Review of The Railway Man (2013) by Adrian J — 22 Jan 2014
I loved this Australian made film - it left me changed at the end of it. I felt that the story was told with great respect for the British and Australian soldiers who lived through the horrific experiences that the film portrays.
I felt that Firth played a man suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder very well, but the stand-out actor for me was Irvine, playing the young Eric Lomax. This film has it all, suspense. drama, heart-wrenching moments, reconciliation.
It stands as a fitting memorial to the brave soldiers. I'm now off to read the book.
