There are certain movies that you see a preview for and getting pretty excited to see, and The Railway Man was one of them for me. The storyline of a man, dealing with some serious trauma intrigued me, and the cast certainly looked very strong.

Most everything about this movie is good, just not great. This really is set up to be an Oscar type of flick, but certainly falls short of that mark. While it moves slowly and it also doesn't quite pull off all it's trying to do, the final act of the movie is a big payoff for me.

There's an incredible redemption storyline there that I really enjoyed. Certainly is worth a buck or two from redbox.
