The Raid 2 ups the ante from the first one giving not only more action sequences and more story development but more movie!!!
While The Raid is my preferred of the 2 for it's pure simplistic delivery of less story more action, The Raid 2 still manages to entertain immensly.
There is quite a bit of dialogue and multiple story aspects and characters in this film which may have viewers wondering... where did the action go? And as a result, not enjoying the film to the fullest. But if you think of these moments as pauses and time for viewers to rest it makes much more sense. The Raid 2 is chocked full of so much action that to not include all these story elements would have likely rendered viewers catatonic! Instead of action sequence after action sequence for 2.5 hours, The Raid 2 pauses for reflection now and again. The human mind just isn't ready for this level of extreme violence just yet.
