Review of The Raid 2 (2014) by Ian B — 08 Jul 2014
One of the best action films I've ever seen in my entire life! There's really no other way to start this review. I was a fan of the original, but felt it was a little over-hyped. When I heard they were making a sequel I gotta say I wasn't expecting much, as sequels never fare well in any genre.
Holy sh*t was I ever proven wrong! The Raid 2 outdoes the original in every way imaginable. The story isn't as gimmicky this time around and the fight choreography is quite possibly the best ever put to film.
Not only that, but the level of violence and bloodshed is through the roof. Director Gareth Evans and star Iko Uwais have put themselves on the map in a major way with this flick. While the script won't be winning any awards, the action sequences have now set the bar ridiculously high.
Seriously, if this movie doesn't get your blood pumping...nothing will.
