Review of The Raid 2 (2014) by Zachary N — 02 Aug 2014
The Raid 2 is an outstanding action thriller and superior follow up to the great The Raid: Redemption. Iko Uwais and Arifin Putra steal the spotlight out of a terrific cast, but it's Iko Uwais who astounds with his martial arts abilities once again.
While the narrative does occasionally get convoluted most of the time it's tight and intriguing with some clever twists. Gareth Evans direction is phenomenal especially during the tense and masterfully put together fight scenes.
Even though the films runtime is 2 hours and 30 minutes the fast and brisk pacing never allows for a dull moment.
