Review of The Quiet Man (1952) by Jeremy R — 01 Mar 2008
This is one of the few John Wayne movies I enjoy. The gentle and beautiful Irish backdrop for a story about a man getting back to his roots, falling in love and escaping a troubled past. The story is light when it has to be, and a little more serious when needed.
A very good balance from John Ford getting good performances from the cast. This is very much a Sunday afternoon movie for me.
