Review of The Quiet Man (1952) by Kearn R — 23 Feb 2012
Quiet Man is about an American named Sean (Wayne) who goes back to the small town in Ireland he was born. In the process of purchasing back his mother's house Sean falls for a redheaded beauty, Mary Kate (O'Hara), but her bully of a brother tries to keep them apart.
A romantic comedy about old traditions of courting ("No patty fingers if you please") and dated dialogue that will infuriate a feminist ("Women of the house"), but still worth a watch.
