Review of The Quiet American (2002) by Alexander J — 20 Jun 2007
A dramatic political crime movie with actors playing roles you don't often see them playing. Kudos to Fraser and Caine for a convincing presentation, especially Fraser should be congratulated for stepping out of his usual goofy image.
You'll hate him in this one here. "The Quiet American" examines the wrongdoings of the foreign policy in Vietnam. Americans and French battle for the best strategic positions, a few years before the Communists came marching in.
A dedication to a Vietnam how it used to be. Peaceful, tranquil, a paradise for quitters. And I absolutely adore the cinematography, especially the shots in the country.
