Review of The Quick and the Dead (1995) by Stefano L — 23 Apr 2013
The idea of a tournament between gunslingers is nice and the movie is very well filmed, with a lot of suspance, and a group of famous actors (with a brilliant and very young Leonardo di Caprio) to support the ambitions of the movie.
Unfortunately there are a lot of points in which you ask yourself: why? and not a why of: "why are you doing such an impossible/unbielievable thing?", but a why simply because something happened without any preparation, or with stupid explanations or no consistency at all; for example: sex scene between Ellen and Cort, the fact that the Kid was the son of Herod or the resolution of the shot again between Ellen and Cort, only definable as ridiculous.
It's possible that the listed parts are just minor and do not completely influence the final of the story (except for the last episode), but come on, you can't throw meat on the grill in this way, without unfreez it first!
