Review of The Quick and the Dead (1995) by Joel G — 16 Apr 2014
A film that definitely has more style than substance. The Quick and The Dead is a bit of a black comedy (as such are a lot of Sam Raimi films) this time as a homage to westerns. The film is somewhat entertaining because of performances from Leonardo DiCaprio, Gene Hackman and Russell Crowe.
The film is about tournament for quick draw gunslingers. Sharon Stone is suppose to be a revenge seeking fighter and the main character but her character is very weekly portrayed and I felt one of the more weaker performances in the film.
The film itself is just too simple. It seems rushed and we never get to know anyone long enough to really care. This is definitely just a rent!
