Review of The Queen and I (2008) by Beth C — 15 Sep 2011

I am pretty fascinated with Middle Eastern culture so I wanted to see this. The Queen was portrayed in a positive light despite being married to the former Shah. She seemed either unaware of the things he had done that were terrible or unwilling to accept them.

Either way Iran after the Revolution isn't the Iran prior to the Shah being removed. Much of the movie is in Farsi (I think, at least - I know it wasn't Arabic) so you do have to read a lot of subtitles, but there is some English spoken.

I thought this movie was really interesting.
