Review of The Quantum Activist (2009) by Joe M — 16 Jul 2011
Title: Quantum Activist.
Genre: Science Documentary without the Science.
Pros:
1. It might encourage people to learn about Physics.
2. Neat hats.
Cons:
1. It contains very little about quantum mechanics.
2. Most of the movie is shot in the "talking head" style. The rest is filled with old, old (and I am assuming royalty free) film footage.
3. What's with the hats?
Verdict: This movie represents the very worst of New Age pontification, using the barest hint of science to imbue theological and philosophical concepts with the illusion of Proof. If you remove all the pretense of "quantum mechanics", Goswami's philosophical musings are interesting but beyond the realm of poetics and metaphor, I'm not sure how they relate to physics at all.
