Review of The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) by Carson H — 27 Feb 2012
Recently, a contact I made through my book recommended this movie to me, saying my work and message reminded him of the theme of this film. I decided to pick it up, and I am glad I did.
Will Smith's Chris Gardner is a man stripped of literally everything but his son, his heart and his courage. The story is heartbreaking. We think we have obstacles and tough times and keep losing and losing, but the protagonist here finds himself in places so low that you see why some people never made it back. Perhaps if they had the determination and fire of Chris Gardner, they would.
That said, this is definitely worth a viewing. It is gratifying, well acted and an intense story that has us rooting for a win that always seems so far away.
