Review of The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985) by Julien G — 28 Oct 2009
Although I am a Woody fan, I think this is one that non-fans seem to enjoy as well. It's a pretty fun story that unfolds at a more conventional pace, unlike some of his other films. It blends his trademark comedy with his trademark hopeless romance very well, and the end is a nod to Italian Neorealism (reminded me of Nights of Cabiria).
