Review of The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985) by Lucas A — 17 Jun 2014
Simply charming! One of the best films of Woody Allen. The film is not just the sensitive and romantic story of Cecilia but also introduces its viewer on a fantastic journey and a love letter to cinema.
Mia Farrow in one of his best performances. An exciting, fleeting and touching screenplay written by Woody genius and one of its strongest direction. The film also deals with the relationship between the real world and the world of movies, mixing comedy with drama, romance with adventure, showing that it is better to live in the movies than live in real life.
Wise, humorous and exciting, Woody one more time take us to an incredibly journey of love, life and illusion.
