Review of The Purifiers (2005) by Don S — 02 Jul 2011
Not a great movie, but not as bad as some reviews make it out to be. The acting is a bit wooden, and McKidd is way over the top, but the film has merit based on the idea that just because everyone else is doing it doesn't make it right.
The "hero" stands up for what he believes in, in spite of all of his gang either turning on him or betraying his trust. The martial arts choreography is pretty decent too. Go in with an open mind, and don't let the small stuff (like the themes of the rival "gangs" - they had to do something to differentiate them) distract you from the purity of the story.
