Review of The Purge: Anarchy (2014) by Matthew C — 13 Jul 2016
The Purge: Anarchy takes the plot outside and involves one man on a mission for revenge against the man who killed his son, but finds himself helping strangers get through this horrible night. The Purge: Anarchy has a terrific performance from Frank Grillo and some good action sequences, but it doesn't excuse the lazy writing and the many times characters make stupid decisions just to make the plot move along.
Overall, The Purge: Anarchy is a movie that is unable to make the statements about society it tries to because of senseless violence and constant dumb decisions by characters.
