Review of The Purge (2013) by Gareth J — 05 Jun 2014
A gripping and well-executed horror/thriller which explores a very prominent sociological issue, not just about modern day America but about first world civil society and humanity as a whole. The film isn't perfect, and would have benefited from a broader perspective.
Still, it makes a nice change from all the Superhero remakes and trashy disaster/action films currently polluting the box office.
