One of the most disappointing movies of the year, The purge is nothing more than a cheap, cliched home-invasion thriller that relies on music for jump scares. The concept for this film was incredibly interesting however the poor filming, weak screen play and uniteresting characters, cause social-commentary ambitions to go out the window.
