The Purge has an interesting idea that is a lot of fun. However, the total implausibility of the world this movie builds is only compounded by a half-assed message that "violence is bad, even when mandated by the government.
" However, by the end of the movie, you will believe that VIOLENCE IS AWESOME! Seriously, the movie sets up this whole philosophical argument about how violence is cruel and unnecessary, but by the end of the movie, you will want to use violence to solve all of your problems.
