Review of The Purge (2013) by Darknessangel . — 21 Jul 2014
Inventive and very intriguing idea unfortunately gets reduced to a by-the-numbers home invasion flick with two of the worst written characters I've seen in a long while: the children. Ethan Hawke is great as usual but the film doesn't give him much to do and the incredibly unique plot isn't expanded further than the first 15 minutes.
There are some creepy scenes involving the villains but it just didn't reach the heights I was hoping for.
