Review of The Purge (2013) by Mario D — 06 Aug 2014
The idea of this movie is taken from one of the episodes of the original Star Trek series from the sixties, but the whole idea behind getting rid of your aggression by violence in one night is actually a fallacy, since studies have shown that violence does indeed breed the desire for more violence, not purge it from one's psyche.
But this film was relatively well done, and had the good point that the family involved did make the decisions toward saving life, even at the cost of their own or taking vengeance on those who tried to hurt them.
They only killed to save their on lives in self defuse, when there was no other course open to them, an important message I hope all the viewers got.
