Review of The Punisher (2004) by Joshua W — 31 Jul 2010
First and foremost, I've always liked The Punisher because he's just a normal guy like Batman, yet he's always had something extra to give. This is where we enter Thomas Jane who plays as Frank Castle, whom in my opinion commits and gets the job done.
Now as a roots story it seems to have lost a lot of its shock, which is very much a writing problem, but as time passes and both Travolta and Jane pass into their characters it's easy to say one could get lost in it with such a good supporting cast.
The Punisher isn't a big comic book movie for all, flashing no superpowers and a truckload of CGI, but it has it where it counts. *Side note: I suggest you watch the Directors Cut since it adds more character and story depth.
