Review of The Punisher (2004) by Bryanbezter — 27 May 2020

The casting, acting, properties and action scenes are okay. The movie is unfortunately tasteless. The main character, his FBI friends, his family, the main villain, Saint's men, the Russian, and Harry Heck all share the same emotion, body language and aura. The scope is very small and the character development is not well-established.

Debatable holes:

1) How could Frank still be alive after being shot few times at family reunion?

2) They did not properly burn Frank's body.

3) They did not confirm whether Frank was dead or not before leaving him on the island.

4) Frank was luckily thrown to the water, found by a kind local doctor.

5) When the police discovered that Frank's family was killed, they did not bother to investigate the whole island or search for Frank's body.

6) How did Frank return from the island Tampa by himself without being recognized?

7) Saint's bank building's security was very weak. There were no guards, metal detector or CCTV cameras. Frank easily came in, brought guns, shot people, and got away.

8) The bank building was totally empty just because the employees saw the money outside. Did they not have any protocol?

9) The FBI or police did not do something about Frank and his actions.

10) It took very long for Saint's men to do something to Frank.

11) The FBI and police did not do anything about Saint's crimes.

12) Frank easily found the speedboat used for money transferring, put bomb in it, and got away.

13) If Frank was a successful FBI agent, how could he not have trusted/loyal/honorable friends?

14) The Russian should have killed Frank so easily.

15) Why did Saint send the Russian alone? He should have sent him with the other 4 men.

16) The 4 men did not search Frank's room, they just lazily interrogated Dave and Bumpo.

17) Frank easily got into Glass' mansion and into his room. Did he not have security guards or CCTV camera?

18) Frank was shot few times using shotguns at Saint's club but was not injured at all.

19) Frank easily got into Saint's mansion.

20) Frank was still in recovery, had been shot and attacked multiple times, did not have enough and proper sleep, did not have enough and nutritious food, was stressed, drank alcohol, but could still stand and fight.

21) There were only few men at Saint's house. How could the FBI and police be afraid of Saint if he was not able to subdue Frank?

22) Mickey and Livia knew about Glass more than Saint, although Saint had been working with him for years and he had considered him as a brother.
