Review of The Punisher (2004) by Caleb W — 07 May 2011

The cast delivers a strong performance portraying many interesting characters. The film mixes laughs with hard core action to deliver both ends of the entertainment spectrum.

The story isn't anything revolutionary. It tells a basic revenge tale with a few clever elements. The climax is delvers all the brutality and action you'd expect from The Punisher.

I'd also like to add that the score is very good. I've found myself whistling the main theme and looking up the lyrics to the "In Time".

I'm not sure why the film gets such a bad rap. Perhaps its the problem of making a film that is simultaneously an action movie and a comic book film. Perhaps people don't like the mixing of humor into an otherwise brutal thriller story.

Whatever the case, I say its worth seeing.
