Review of The Punisher (2004) by Zach C — 14 Jun 2011
Ok Im a fan, but there are some good moments in this likeable edition. Tom Jane puts in the best performance of the 3 (as is the film); sounds like Frank; looks like him in a non-grizzled way (a la Stevenson); got the dead-pan down; moody, edgy but just-as someone else said-there's not enough punishing in this to leave you satisfied.
A couple of good fights in there; the russian, the finale but its all too sparse. Editing, plot holes and production values let it down to distraction somewhat, but I think it was a great effort for the budget.
I wanted to like it more but was left dissapointed. I think an extented version would do it a bit more justice (no pun intended).
