Review of The Pumpkin Eater (1964) by Manisha D — 28 Mar 2012
The film may not have been as dynamic as it could have been overall but Anne Bancroftâ(TM)s performance is stellar. She conveys bliss or deep-seated torment with just a flash of her eyes. . . .and has the ability to do it in quick succession.
She also manages to show the audience how the character is easily affected by the mental [in]stability of those around her.
