Review of The Public Enemy (1931) by Kyle O — 27 Aug 2007
For a proto-gangster film, I quite enjoyed it. I had a lot of trouble getting past the way people talked. Gun moll's should not have pseudo-British accents, etc. The movie itself was mediocre. The characters were given physical mnemonics so we could tell them apart.
I honestly relied on these physical mnemonics in some scenes. Again, not good, not bad.
