When Australia's own Nick Cave of the Bad Seeds offers through his Captain Stanley: 'Australia. What fresh hell is this?' you feel his pain. Their pain. He also insists: 'I will civilize this land'.
The civilization seems to end at the white hedge of their little prairie ranch house, and their help carefully places his shoes inside the hedge, leaving barefoot. Wonderful Emily Watson and Ray Winstone! I wanted to believe there's a lot more character to this seemingly barren land, but multiple shots of sunset didn't bring it home for me.
