Ray Winstone, John Hurt, Guy Pearce! No romanticism here. Full on hard core Australian western and its a western in every sense except location. Irish Australian crazy outlaws come up against the British 'civilised' establishment.
There are no heros in this movie. Guy Pearce seems to be the only one who wants to turn over a new leaf but this of course is made difficult given the kind of options you have iin the 19th century outback.
Writen by Nick Cave no less so don't expect Dances With Wolves.
