Review of The Proposition (2005) by Chris H — 16 Jul 2011
Absolutely the prettiest "western" type film that I have ever watched. I say "western" because it is really the Australian outback. The writer/composer, Nick Cave, is most obviously a very talented story teller. Being a musician, I would even say the story has a certain rhythm to it. The movie leaves us guessing as to each characters true background and what exactly could be going through their heads, but keeps the suspense in just that way...only focusing on the story (task) at hand.
As a work of art, astounding. Guy Pearce is really a talented actor that probably doens't get as much credit as he deserves.
