An all around Oscar-worthy performance!! The genocide of the Armenian people left around 75% of its population dead, with countless Armenian children and women forcibly converted to Islam and married into Turkish families against their will.
Armenians were gassed to death, burned alive, drowned in the Black Sea and crucified on crosses to mimic the death of Jesus. It was a horrific event that is still denied by Turkish society to this day.
Of course, these genocidal events were not just aimed at the Armenians, but all other indigenous Christians of Anatolia/Asia Minor such as the Assyrians and Pontic Greeks. Many Yazidis were also subject to this genocide (or what the Turks called 'Holy War').
