Review of The Program (1993) by Clay B — 29 Oct 2005
If you were to watch this now, you would see it as a college football flick that follows all the rules of a sports movie. Well, this is the movie that made those rules; that paved the way for the recent sports movies that have been released in the past 10 years. This football team certainly has its group of problems, with Heisman pressure, alcohol problems, and getting the linebacker to pass a drug test while shooting up with steroids. There are classic football movies like Rudy, Any Given Sunday, and North Dallas Forty, and then there is The Program, which ranks up there with the best of them..
