Review of The Producers (1968) by Elise H — 12 Apr 2012
One of the funniest films I have ever seen. The story is not just well written, but has an affectionate regard for its characters. In this, a down and out producer becomes friends with an accountant called Leo Bloom and they attempt to pull the scam of their life by getting lots of shares, then producing a flop.
They decide on a play called Springtime for Hitler, lots of chaotic scenes follow. Zero Mostel is just one of those great unforgettable actors. I will not spoil this delightful comedy by saying anymore, it is a must see.
