Review of The Producers (1968) by John E — 27 Mar 2008
This one too takes taboo subjects and blows its nose on them. Springtime for Hitler is absolutely hilarious and makes Nazis look like the douchebags they truly are. This is better than the remake of it; haven't seen the musical.
On a side note, it is apparent that this is Brooks' first film; some of the jokes' timing hasn't been polished like it will be in later films. But a fantastic debut for one of the funniest people ever.
