Review of The Producers (1968) by Andrew N — 08 Mar 2009
A dark, controversial (for its time), and deeper outing for Mel Brooks. Wonderfully dirty, unethical and wholly capitalist flick. The protagonists are completely unscrupulous and exceptionally lovable.
You really feel for Max and Leo--it's them versus the world and you're on their side! Get ready for a wild ride!
