Review of The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009) by Michel L — 28 Mar 2010
I got myself prepared for a typical chick flick but my fears were soon pushed aside as what I got was a really well made, genuine style drama about a woman hitting a midlife crisis. What we get is her looking back on her life ( played surprisingly well by Gossip Girls Blake Lively ) and looks at what her life ahead has got left to give.
It tackles what life can churn up without the need to coat it in doom and gloom and has a nice brightness about without falling into the trap of making the viewer not believe. Kudos also to any director who can get Keanu Reeves to act! ( the only other 2 films he has ever acted in being The Gift and Somethings Got To Give ).
