No surprises then that I'm the first person to review this milestone in British cinema. Korda demonstrates a clear vision and a well directed look at Henry VIII. Charles Laughton won an Oscar for his portrayal of the portly monarch - deservedly so.
Although it drags on slightly, and the comedy of the day wears a bit thin in places, you really wouldn't think this film was over 70 years old. Sad thing is, the whole cast is now dead. A recommended watch if you're hardcore.
