Review of The Prisoner of Shark Island (1936) by Johan A — 12 Dec 2007

Less than historically accurate, this John Ford movie is nevertheless a gripping film that neither lags in its action, nor in its ability to draw you into the plight of its characters. This movie in lesser hands might have seemed episodic, but Ford moves from one key scene to the next making each scene seem the inevitable outcome of the preceding one.
