Review of The Princess Bride (1987) by James O — 26 Nov 2018
This is a wonderful film - so why only three stars? Because of the date. If it had been made fifteen years earlier, we could forgive the limp princess. By 1985 they could have, should have, had a lot of fun with a more feisty princess.
Had she revealed hidden skills that flummoxed all the men, had she lifted Wesley away from a spurting flame, THEN it might be a film I'd want my granddaughter to see. Such a shame.
