Review of The Princess and the Frog (2009) by Chrissy A — 15 Jan 2013
Disney's return to a rather classical approach to animated films (and storytelling) is mostly aimed at a very young and female audience. The rest should still have a hard time getting bored with the lovely characters, colorful set pieces and catchy Jazz songs, but adults and boys probably expect a little more edge in their films.
Especially the story is somewhat generic, from the protagonist's dilemma to the villain and the cute sidekicks. If you've seen more than three Disney films in your time you will find it hard to be surprised at any point throughout this film.
That doesn't mean it isn't well done, offers a few laughs and decent entertainment. Kids will certainly love it.
