One of my favorite movies of al time. I'm a huge Pat Conroy fan and read the book as well. I love them both. I think the things that were left of the movie is just for good entertainment. Many films that are based on books are edited GREATLY for the sake of ENTERTAINING.
I think POT does just that. Nolte...amazing...Streisand...you may not like HER...but you cannot deny she's a MEGA talent!
