Review of The Prince of Egypt (1998) by Mark S — 25 May 2013
One of the most underrated animated films of the last 20 years. The 'first born' and 'parting of the sea' sequences sent shivers down my spine and the soundtrack for the film is memorable and somewhat akin in tone to the likes of Les Mis.
It is maybe because of its serious nature that the film is something of a hidden gem (despite being a relative success at the box office and containing a host of famous voice actors) but it is proof if ever it was needed that there is still a place for old-fashioned animation techniques.
